Painted on both sides.
We recommend hanging the item with mounting tape - the item is very light and it will only take a few strips.
The tape also shouldn't mark your wall.
Please note the item will arrive attached to a wooden sheet for safety during shipping - please discard this (or make use of it elsewhere!)
