They are very pretty but they do smell of chemicals and I've cleaned them a few times, used them a few times and they still smell. Bit concerned they have some sort of chemical on them to be honest. They look good though and arrived very quickly.

The reason for a 1 star rating is because I dont think these items should be named placemats. They are 20 cms or 8 in which is very very small. I made the mistake of not reading first as the items do say the size, and the cut and everything else is fine. But they are not useful as placemats. They are useful for a flower base or something else. I saw placemats and they seemed cool so I bought them. A typical size of a placemat is 35 x 50 cms (14×20 in). A small placemat would be 30 cms at least (12 in) so you can see how a 20 cm placemat is not really a placemat, my small salad plates are bigger than them. So if you want a placemat these are definitely NOT placemats. And I would suggest to the shop changing their name.
